Today I’m making some Quick Elegant Christmas cards. I also want to explain little about the different cards stocks that’s available, helping us to make the cards fast and nice 🙂 If you’re like me, I like to make as many nice cards as possible without spending too much time on them and sometimes the card stocks that you have makes this task a little easier. Today I’m using some cheap Niji iridescent watercolor cakes to color in my images. The colors really pop on black card stock and its a great elegant card for any occasion. I hope you try it out. It’s been a while since I posted since I’m unable to make videos at this time, due to my health condition. I’ve been be ridden, going on 3 weeks but it feels like 3 months. Ugh!! This video I'm posting today was made in July of 2015 and during that time, I wasn't able to post this so I thought I'd share them today. I actually thought I had erased it but it was still in my archives. I really love the bright colors and I love the way it turned out. I'm not even sure if this stamp set is available anymore but you certainly can use other stamps using this same technique. There are many gorgeous stamp sets available, which will work fine. Today I decided to make a Father’s day card for my husband so that my kids can give it to him. I’m using this Newton’s Nook Designs Beach party stamp set and I’m using Winston and the surf board for this card. I thought it would be fun to make a bright summer card for him since it’s pretty sunny here in Hawaii so this stamp set was perfect. I prepped the round stitched portion to create my beach scene with MFT’s stitched circle die and some distress ink. I also found this wave pattern from my stash and that was perfect for my waves. I also cut out another pattern paper to place behind the circle to match my pink back panel. I’m really going to try my best to use up some of my design papers from now on, since I have way too much of it taking up a lot of space. I have a Full tutorial on the how I made this card up above, if you want to see a step by step. I colored winston using my all time favorite, Zig clean color markers. Today I’m sharing with you this card I made for Tupelo Designs LLC’s DT Card Using part of the DT Package I received. From the DT package, I’m using the New Penny Black Blips Bakground stamp set, which has these really Unique design to it along with the New Waffle Flower Pointed Petal Chalk ink. This ink pad holds 8 different colors in one, which I think it’s a real bargain. I’m also using some other products that I purchased including the New Penny Black’s clear Efflorescence stamp set, MFT In and Out Diagnal stitched rectangle die, Spectrum Aqua Primary set, Paper Artsy’s Treasure gold, the New wood veneer’s from Fundamentals and some other items as well.
I first wanted to create a background pattern using the Penny Black’s Blips stamp set and the Waffle flower ink pad. In my opinion, Background stamps are one of the Must haves because you can easily make your own background papers with it. I used 3 of the colors from the Waffle flower ink pad and added some colors to the background stamp to create my background. It’s a great way to get more out of your stamps.
My Focal image is from the Penny Black Efflorescence. This stamp is one of my favorites because these flowers are so fun to color and you can use so many different mediums to color it. These stamps are a perfect addition if you love to color. Today’s medium I’ll be using with the flower is the Spectrum Aquas. Spectrum Aquas come in 4 different sets and I only have the Primary’s so thats what I’ll be using today. I’ll also show you couple tips and tricks to color using your ink pads as well. I just found out about this Valentines Day Card Drive that sends out these cards to different Hospitals and Foster homes for the Kids. This is such a Incredible opportunity to put a smile on their faces. I’m just bumped out that I didn’t find this sooner, then I would of been able to send out more cards.
